Hello folks,The social committee invites you to the most wonderful time of the year, yes, the BNI Embarcadero’s HOLIDAY PARTY & WHITE ELEPHANT EXCHANGE!!

When: Thursday December 7, 6pm – 9pm
Where: the social room at 355 Buena Vista East 94117 home of Maria Poroy

Who: please come and bring your spouse, children, friends. Especially make an effort to bring former members of BNI. It’s always a pleasure to welcome old friends from BNI days gone by. Consider bringing a potential member of BNI.

What: look for the sign up sheet tomorrow for the potluck feast and plan to bring your favorite dish. Beverages (white wine, beer and soda provdied, no red wine allowed) (especially look out for Maria’s famous punch).

White Elephant: a White Elephant is that unloved object accumulating dust in your closet, a burden to you, and who knows? an object of beauty to your fellow BNI’ers. Note that a change from the past involves just one White Elephant per household given the size we have grown to. Wrap up your gift and there is a fun process where we pick the gifts in succession and trade for them. What will be this years’ hot item? A lamp with frilly shade and glued on shells? Frank Zappa’s 1969 recording of Lumpy Gravy? Let the creative energy FLOW!!

How: parking is plentiful usually around the Buena Vista. This is the pink building set on the park which used to be a hospital in the late 1800’s. The chapel is now the social space. Public transport is available by going to the CHurch St Station via J Church or K, L, M, and then take the 37 Bus towards Corbett . There will be a BNI attendant at the door.

Why: to celebrate the end of another successful year for BNI, and to enjoy the holidays.

Please RSVP to me so we can have an idea of head count, and don’t forget to sign up for the potluck.
